Officer - Chaplain
Roles and Responsibilities

Chaplains are uniquely gifted ministers who specialize in pastoral care, caregiving and supporting others spiritually. A career in chaplaincy opens the door for the Holy Spirit to move through your skills and abilities to personally minister to others in extreme circumstances. Chaplains, comprehensive preparation is critical thorough preparation in theology and ministry to handle intense emotional and spiritual situations with grace and humility. The Chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to members along with offers of comfort and support. Chaplain maintain records of life events (births, deaths, marriages, etc. within BOFA, Inc. membership. The Chaplain influences policies within their institutions to better serve the spiritual and emotional needs of the BOFA community.

 

Chaplin Qualifications:

  • Board Certified Chaplin, Religious Scholar, or equivalent

  • Good reputation and high moral character

  • Being in good standing in marriage and immediate family

  • Bachelor of Science in Chaplaincy or Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling — Community Chaplaincy

Competencies:
 

  • Being patient, hospitable, and apt to teach

  • Being mature and called in life and faith

  • Being able to preach

  • Must be able to participate in virtual meetings
